Jamila Ponton Bragg is the founder of JamRock Productions LLC, a theater production company committed to works for women, about women and by women. After nearly twenty years in the nonprofit industry, Ms. Bragg transitioned to theater production.. JamRock Productions current projects include developing the Jean Genet play THE BLACKS for a Broadway in Spring 2025 and working with playwright a.k. payne on the 2024 Susan Smith Blackburn prize winning AWETHU. JamRock is also working with the Ntozake Shange Literary Trust to stage a production of Betsey Brown (1985), a semi-autobiographical book about Ms. Shange’s time with her family as a thirteen-year-old in St. Louis in 1955. 

JamRock Productions co-producer credits include PASSOVER (2021), DEATH OF A SALESMAN (2022), Tony Nominated Best Play FAT HAM (2023), THE WIZ (2024), and SOUL TRAIN (2024).

Ms. Bragg was named the 2022 Prince Fellow in the MFA program at the Columbia School of the Arts. The Prince Fellowship honors the legacy, career and memory of the Broadway producer, Harold Prince. The Fellowship is designed to support the development of gifted emerging theatrical producers. Ms. Bragg was named on the Broadway Women’s Fund 2023 “Women to Watch on Broadway.” 

Ms. Bragg graduated from Duke University in 1996 with a BS in Psychology and earned an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1999. She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and resides in Harlem, NY with her husband and her two children.
